We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technology Intern to join our Development Operations team.
As a Technology Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the development and deployment of our software application, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, and contributing to the improvement of our development processes. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in development operations and contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our software delivery.
Please note that this role is an FTC until the end of December 2025.
About the role
As a Technology Intern at Reuters Imagen, you will:
- Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of software applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues
- Implement and maintain automation scripts to improve development efficiency
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Assist in the development of technical documentation and knowledge base articles
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Support the implementation of DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Assist in the maintenance of development environments, including virtual machines and containerisation
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions
About you
To be our Technology Intern, you will likely have:
- Currently enrolled in, or have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong understanding of computer programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools
- Familiarity with development operations tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based platforms, such as AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
- Exposure to configuration management tools such as Ansible
- Participation in open-source projects or personal coding projects
- Previous internship or project experience in a related field
