Role summary
This role is both office and construction site based as part of the Project Engineering team and will support the wider project team with regards to, MEICA Engineering, health and safety, along with organising and managing subcontractors, making technical enquiries, reviewing designer drawings/documentation, reviewing site installations for compliance and quality.
You will support the Project Manager with project delivery, from tendering, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover project phases. This will require collaboration with external designers, subcontractors, client representatives and colleagues.
We do not have a licence to offer sponsorship.
What you will be doing
- Supporting the Project Engineers in Design Management: reviewing drawings, providing feedback, monitoring and recording change.
- Supporting the Project Engineers in Subcontractor Management: reviewing drawings, Inspection & Test Plans, Risk Assessments & Method Statements, visiting subcontractor works to review progress, attending site to review installations for accuracy and quality, ensuring As Built Drawings/Documentation is received promptly and managing the subcontract paperwork.
- Supporting the Project Engineers in Client Management: attending HAZOP & ALM studies, visiting with site Operations teams to ensure their understanding and support of our project delivery, meetings with the Engineering team to discuss progress, solution options and any issues.
- Support all in ensuring exemplary standards of health and safety, and the company’s standards for the environment and sustainability and followed.
About you
Entry requirements
- Currently studying towards a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or derivative of (or similar)
- Holds a UK driving licence and will have access to a vehicle for the duration of the placement.
- Can commit to a 12-week summer placement during summer 2025.
- Can attend the office in Exeter and sites in the greater Devon area.
