The role
The successful candidate will be developed and trained as part of our team to ultimately take responsibility for information gathering, writing, editing and producing (bespoke or tailored) construction/project specific evidence based responses for bid submissions across a variety of market sectors. They will work alongside the Preconstruction Submissions Manager, Bid Managers and the Graphics team to help produce final submissions that are consistent, engaging and to the highest standard possible.
What you will be doing
- Contribute to the production of designated bid related qualitative responses;
- Writing, editing and proofing bid submission responses using persuasive and positive language;
- Identify areas where written text can be converted into tables or graphics;
- Carry out research (web based or otherwise) on clients and projects to aid and tailor the written responses;
- Attend site visits if necessary to aid responses;
- Capturing, collating and evidencing best practice and case studies to be utilised in bid submissions.
What we will be looking for from you
- Bid writing/language/journalism qualifications / training;
- English language / English literature;
- Evidence of writing, editing and overseeing high quality persuasive submissions as part of studies;
- Able to abstract technical notes or a verbal response from others into compelling narrative
- Able to work as part of a team or individually;
- Excellent IT skills (essential) and proficient in using MS office, bid writing and graphic software such as InDesign (essential);
- Full Driving Licence (desirable);
- Prior knowledge of the construction process and technology is NOT essential and will be part of training and development
- Well organised to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks;
- Ability to coordinate/ manage the input of others;
- Innovative/ creative;
- Good communicator;
- A love of language and writing
