    Our 12 week Summer Internships, based in Aberdeen, are a great opportunity to get a taste for working at TotalEnergies and get hands on experience within your field of interest. The programme’s design is multifaceted, ensuring that you receive the opportunities and support needed to develop on a personal and professional level. These include learning workshops, networking opportunities, training sessions and if operationally viable, a site visit.

    During the programme you will have an ‘intern supervisor’ to keep you right. They will make sure that you are well looked after, understand your tasks, and encourage your learning and development. You will leave us having had a great experience, with an enhanced knowledge of the energy industry. Give your theoretical understanding a practical application - gain experience far beyond a textbook!

    As a TotalEnergies Intern, you will be joining our Exploration & Production Branch to help play a part in our journey to net zero.

    The Position

    The role of Cloud Software Developer sits primarily within the Digital Services team working in the Information Services organisation, reporting to the Digital Services Lead.

    After a brief familiarisation period, a development plan will be prepared along with an assigned mentor in order to get the maximum benefit during the time spent on placement.

    Working closely with an experienced Software Developer and DevSecOps Engineer, the role will involve assisting with the development, quality assurance and deployment of new data driven software solutions. The role will provide an excellent opportunity to develop skills in the Microsoft Azure platform which is the main development platform used for Cloud Software Development in TotalEnergies.

    As part of the program, time would be spent with each of the disciplines in the Digital Services to give an insight into the main roles associated with Cloud Development including Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Software Developer and DevOps engineer.

    Some of the activities you will be involved in will include:

    • Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
    • Developing new user-facing features using JavaScript frameworks
    • Working with development teams and product managers to design software solutions to solve real business challenges
    • Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues

    We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy being challenged and embrace opportunities. Our core values are at the heart of everything we do and it is important that you identify with them. We are looking for students who are:

    • In their penultimate year of their undergraduate degree (graduating in 2024) Studying Computer Science or a related degree
    • Available to work in our Westhill office, situated just outside Aberdeen, during the summer months (June to end of August)
    • Able to exhibit strong communication skills, attention to detail, an excellent work ethic, a curiosity to learn and basic familiarity with Microsoft applications
    • Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK
