Our 12 week Summer Internships, based in Aberdeen, are a great opportunity to get a taste for working at TotalEnergies and get hands on experience within your field of interest. The programme’s design is multifaceted, ensuring that you receive the opportunities and support needed to develop on a personal and professional level. These include learning workshops, networking opportunities, training sessions and if operationally viable, a site visit.
During the programme you will have an ‘intern supervisor’ to keep you right. They will make sure that you are well looked after, understand your tasks, and encourage your learning and development. You will leave us having had a great experience, with an enhanced knowledge of the energy industry. Give your theoretical understanding a practical application - gain experience far beyond a textbook!

As a TotalEnergies Intern, you will be joining our Exploration & Production Branch to help play a part in our journey to net zero.
The Position
Our Drilling Fluids and Cementing Engineering intern will work alongside our Fluids Superintendent. Their role is responsible for delivering all aspects related to drilling and completions fluids, wells cementing planning and execution and the waste management strategy, planning and operations for any drilling activity. You will have to opportunity to work on two specific topics during your internship, the first of which will be building and analysing the technical issues we experienced on N58 related to the barite sag. The second will be building a cementing slurry designs database for TEPUK operations.
Some of the further activities you will be involved in will include:
- Collecting data and perform research on Barite sag
- Put together barite sag guidelines for TotalEnergies EP UK drilling operations
- Cementing design and well specifics cementing requirements

About you
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy being challenged and embrace opportunities. Our core values are at the heart of everything we do and it is important that you identify with them. We are looking for students who are:
- In their penultimate year of their undergraduate degree (graduating in 2024) Studying Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering
- Available to work in our Westhill office, situated just outside Aberdeen, during the summer months (June to end of August)
- Able to exhibit strong communication skills, attention to detail, an excellent work ethic, a curiosity to learn and basic familiarity with Microsoft applications
- Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK
