Each year we invite Students to complete their placement year with us in our Eco HQ in Surrey. We nickname these students our ‘Future Talent’ because they often go on to do great things, either here at TGB, TFS, on our OneToyota Graduate scheme or in the wider working world.

We are proud to offer an Award Winning 12 month placement as part of your undergraduate degree, giving you Industry experience in a global brand (but with family feel) organisation. As part of the emerging talent community, you’ll get access to our 70:20:10 learning and development framework*, you’ll have the support of the student community and roll your sleeves up to get involved in specific projects & fundraising to make a genuine difference.

Weather you know the exact path you want to take, just want to dip your toe into working life or you’ve not really thought about what happens after uni, we’re able to provide you with experience in a generalist sales and marketing business, we’re inclusive and we’ll give you the tools for you to grow into a well-rounded employable graduate.

About Toyota – In a nutshell

You may already follow Toyota or Lexus on social media or in the news and have heard about the great things that we continue to achieve globally, well, what we do here helps achieve those great things! Here at out ECO HQ in Surrey, we support the car dealership network as the sales, marketing & finance functions for both Toyota and Lexus in the UK. Business Student Placement Overview

There are 13 different roles up for grabs within our business category split into 4 different streams of application. We understand that at this stage of your career, you may not be exactly clear on the path you want to take, that’s why for the roles that have cross over in terms of the experience they give, we allow you to be considered for a stream that interests you rather than applying for multiple roles. This makes sure that we deliver the best candidate experience. All of the department role profiles are attached so you can have a look at the detail of each area, but to simplify your application process (hurrah!) we ask you to apply to 1 of the business streams rather than individual roles.

  • Business Insight - Improving business process & insight through data - The fundamentals of Business Reporting & Insight, Power BI - Data & Analysis.
  • Business Experience - Supporting the delivery of new products and services for Toyota / Lexus customers & prospects - Market analysis, research and supporting the delivery of high-profile business projects.
  • Business Products - Working to improve the retail experience for Toyota / Lexus customers - Project Management; Business Problem Solving; Toyota / Lexus Retail Network Transformation
  • Business Operations - Using operational data & insight to inform projects, decisions and outcomes with the experience of our customer in mind.

Typically our business roles will include first-hand experience in project management and allow you to take the lead with projects in the team. For these roles you should be excited about the opportunity to analyse data, problem solve and propose innovative and efficient solutions to support decision making across the business. There will also be opportunity for you to develop presentations and showcase your communication skills.

We are obsessed with being a customer centric organisation, you will get fantastic opportunities to work directly with our customers (this includes the centre network, TFS, our fleet partners and many more!).

Enabling you to be the best you can be is on the top of list at Toyota, so our managers will support you by identifying projects that will provide opportunities for development as well as giving face to face support on a regular basis

You want in?

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to be:

  • You’ll need to be completing a undergraduate degree which includes a year in industry - (This could be a business degree but we've also had students studying English Literature, Sports Science & History ace placements with us)
  • Confident in communicating with a wide demographic of customers
  • Positive outlook and problem solving mind-set.
  • Really team focused and able to build relationships
  • Passionate about customers & obsessed with delivering a service the way that customers LOVE!
  • Residing in the UK and either living within or willing to relocate to within a commutable distance of our ECO HQ
