Trafalgar Entertainment is a live entertainment business and home to Trafalgar Venues (including Trafalgar Theatre, London, a portfolio of 12 regional UK venues, and Theatre Royal, Sydney), Trafalgar Theatre Productions, Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, Trafalgar Releasing, Trafalgar Education (including Stagecoach Performing Arts and Drama Kids), Trafalgar Tickets (including London Theatre Direct and Stagedoor App) and Trafalgar Cinemas (including Chiswick Cinema).
The Finance Assistant will provide support to the Trafalgar Venues finance department in all areas of the management of accounts with a specific focus on settlements, invoicing and bank and cash. As part of a determined, fun, and supportive finance department this individual will provide accurate information in a timely manner enabling high quality financial reporting for the business.
We are looking for a pro-active team player with a can-do approach while focusing on achieving the departmental goals. The ideal candidate will enjoy continuously learning, be continuously curious about the company and its financial workings and processes. They will be accurate and flexible to ever-changing business priorities, have a calm attitude …. and a sense of humour!
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile control accounts.
- Prepare journals as required.
- Review monthly credit card and petty cash reconciliations and posting required journals.
- Assist the Management Accountants with month end processes.
- Review intercompany reconciliations and report differences.
- Ensuring delivery of team goals by supporting as and when required.
- Ad hoc duties and analysis as required.
- Prepare monthly central statistics forms.
- Build and maintain a good working relationship with venue staff.

Experience
- This is an entry level role. We are looking for someone who would like to grow, develop and learn.
Skills
- Strong communicator who can build and maintain a good working relationship with venue staff.
- A team player, who engages in departmental and company activities/events.
- Able to work calmly and effectively in a pressurised work environment and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The abilities to manage dependencies and act quickly to resolve potential problems.
- Basic Excel (desirable).
Knowledge
- Interest in numbers and theatre.
- Basic understanding of invoices and bank statements/reconciliations (would be advantageous)
Attitude
- A ‘can-do’ pro-active attitude and a positive, flexible approach to the job role, work colleagues and peers.
- A presentable, professional, and approachable manner which sets an example for others to follow.
- A willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends and/or Bank Holidays if the job role requires.
