    Trafford Leisure is looking for an outstanding person to join our team, in the role of Graduate CEO Support.     Trafford Leisure is a community interest company, we exist to benefit the Trafford community and we are committed to being a responsible and sustainable employer. We are the largest operator of sport and leisure facilities in Trafford, operating eight indoor facilities, one golf course and driving range and 31 outdoor football pitches, attracting over 2 million visits per year and employing a workforce of over 300 people.     As the business recovers from COVID and we look forward to the future Trafford Leisure has a lot to be excited about. Alongside our recent £7million development of Urmston (Fitness & Wellbeing in Trafford, Greater Manchester (twmove.co.uk), Trafford Council are continuing with their investment plan into indoor Leisure in Trafford. Altrincham, Sale and Stretford’s Leisure Centres will be refurbished turning these busy but tired facilities into modern, inspiring, fit for purpose Centres under the continued roll out of Trafford Leisure’s new brand .

    The role

    We are looking for a graduate CEO Support to assist, grow and develop with the CEO.  We’re not looking for a traditional PA role, as well as carrying out some day-to-day administration tasks, the successful candidate will liaise with partners, stakeholders and support with strategy, projects, governance, and campaigns in which the Chief Executive is involved.

    The ideal candidate will be forward thinking, able to work well in a team, have excellent communication skills, demonstrate personal resilience, a flexible approach to work, have an interest in sport, physical activity and health, and a commitment to helping the company achieve its aspirational vision.

    The role will be engaging and challenging and will offer the right candidate various opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge and gain experience across all aspects of the business, growing professionally with support from the CEO and Senior Team across Trafford. Over the next 5 years, our local leisure centres in Trafford will be refurbished and rebranded with our new brand of move and this evolving role will have the exciting opportunity to support the CEO closely with the investment projects and workstreams.

    You must be degree educated with the ability to drive and with the following key skills and abilities.

    • ability to learn a new area of knowledge swiftly and effectively,

    • ability to use relevant ICT, Microsoft office 365 and maximise the use of technology to improve support to the CEO and wider Senior Leadership Team. This individual must be proficient technically in order to support development of the Leadership Team.
    • a positive phone manner and excellent verbal presentation and listening skills.

    This role is exciting and unique it provides for great exposure across the business and ample opportunities to grow and develop with the right candidate to really own the role and make it their own. A high quality of written work will be expected early on as this is a key component of the post. The successful candidate will receive induction and training with a view to ensuring that you are able to progress after a period of two-years in Trafford Leisure or across GM Active.

    The tasks above are the key aspects of the role which must be fulfilled as a priority. However, once they are being delivered to an excellent standard , there are ample opportunities for further development and progression. The role could be extended to cover any of the following, depending on the knowledge, abilities, skills and performance of the post holder:

    • Represent Trafford Leisure at external meetings
    • Produce well researched, focused, clear and concise reports and policy briefing papers for the Trafford Leisure Board and other partners
    • Produce well researched, focused, clear and concise reports and policy briefing papers for the wider Senior Leadership Team
    • Accountable for the governance of Trafford Leisure CIC
    • Development of new policy and strategy for Trafford Leisure CIC

    These additional roles may be rewarded with increased pay as the role evolves with the individual. A full induction programme will be put in place and overseen by the CEO and Head of People to help introduce you to your role and our organisation.

    Location

    Your primary location will be Head Office at Altrincham Golf Course although you could be expected to work from our various sites across Trafford although we are happy to work flexibly with you.
