The role
We are currently recruiting Assistant Asset Strategy Managers to analyse and assess some of TfL's most important asset challenges. We ensure the c.£1bn of investment we put into our assets every year is being done in a planned, conscious, and informed way. We operate flexibly, through a highly capable and supportive team that can turn their collective 'hand' to challenges and are known for producing high quality outputs.
The work in our team is varied, exciting and high profile; your work could include looking at long term trends in asset information, developing asset intervention plans, or planning future improvements.
You'll need to bring drive and an ability to understand and plan the work required to complete tasks. You'll want to make things better, be comfortable working at pace and confident involving stakeholders in decision making. In doing so we will support you and be willing to provide guidance as required.

Key Accountabilities
- Support the development of business plans, asset strategies and asset plans (short and long term), considering a wide range of factors including cost, risk, performance and sustainability
- Transform strategies into prioritised workbanks of projects for delivery
- Support on the development of all capital and operational expenditure throughout the asset lifecycle, or lead discrete work packages as part of this process
- Carry out high quality asset data analysis (e.g. cost, condition, risk) to provide material for presentations, reports and strategies that support and inform conclusions and recommendations
- Support the development of up-keep of asset lifecycle and degradation models to inform asset lifecycle decisions
- Plan, run and facilitate workshops and other forums, including writing up outputs after the event.
- Support the continuous improvement of asset management processes and approaches
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Skills
- Good stakeholder management skills
- Good written, verbal and presentation skills (Essential)
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across teams as required
Knowledge
- Graduate in a relevant subject (or equivalent work experience in a strategic role) (Essential)
- Understanding of the principles of Asset Management (Essential)
- Understanding of the challenges that asset intensive organisation face (transport and or utility companies) (Essential)
- IAM Foundation level qualification (or a willingness to complete this in the first 3 months)
Experience
- Experience of interpreting different information sources and communicating them effectively (Essential)
- Experience of supporting the development of asset strategies, asset plans and/or a prioritised work programmes (Desirable)
- Experience of undertaking data analysis and presenting findings in a simple manner (Essential)
- Experience in the asset management discipline (Desirable)
