Reporting to the Head of Safety and Sustainability, this role is designed to be dynamic and cross-functional, providing essential support by processing incident and environmental data, driving initiatives of safety and sustainability, and collaborating with various departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, analyse, and interpret data related to safety incidents, sustainability metrics, and compliance records.
  • Incident Reporting: Maintain detailed records of safety incidents and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop a dashboard for all stakeholders to easily understand the number of incidents (collision and passenger), driving standards, key areas of concern.
  • Trend Analysis: Identify trends and patterns in incident, driving assessor and complaints, as well as sustainability data to support risk assessment and controls measures.
  • Support Safety and Sustainability Initiatives: Assist in the development and implementation of safety and sustainability initiatives across departments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to gather data, share insights, and drive improvement initiatives.
  • KPI Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators related to safety and sustainability.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training materials and programs to promote safety and sustainability awareness among employees.
  • Compliance Tracking: Ensure that the organisation adheres to health, safety, and sustainability regulations and standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety and sustainability practices.

Skills, knowledge and expertise

  • Educational background: Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in data analysis, safety management, or sustainability is preferred.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL) and knowledge of safety and sustainability frameworks.
  • Analytical skills: Strong ability to analyse complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented: Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and address safety and sustainability challenges effectively.
  • Passion for sustainability: A genuine passion for promoting sustainable practices and improving safety standards.

About us

Transport UK London Bus operates bus services across London on behalf of TFL, plus rail replacement and event services across the UK. We operate over ten per cent of the London bus network, running c800 vehicles and employing around 2,700 employees across six depots in Central, South and West London.
