Job Description Summary

Provide all necessary support to the Travelers Europe compliance team in its fulfilment of the annual Compliance Plan. Assist the Compliance Officers as required with continuous monitoring, themed compliance reviews, and specific compliance projects. Work with the various business units and functions to manage regulatory risks identified by the compliance team.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carrying out day-to-day monitoring activities and review tasks in accordance with the Board-approved Compliance Plan
  • Gathering and managing data to assist with Compliance monitoring across Travelers Europe.
  • Analyse data and prepare reports of continuous monitoring.
  • Assisting with preparing Compliance reports to the Board, Board Committees and Executive Risk Committee.
  • Analysing data and preparing returns for regulatory reporting purposes.
  • Assisting the Compliance Officers in the preparation for themed reviews, collating and analysing data, and drafting parts of the final reports.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the Compliance reporting calendar.
  • Collating information for and editing “Compliance News”, the in-house compliance newsletter.
  • .Assisting with the handling and reporting of complaints

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience within Financial Services required.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge

  • Undergraduate degree level education preferred.
  • Some knowledge and understanding of Prudential Regulation Authority/Financial Conduct Authority Handbook and Lloyd’s regulations.
  • Some compliance experience in general insurance, and in particular experience of the compliance requirements of a Lloyd’s managing agent.

Licensing or Certificates

  • Progress towards `ACII’ or `Dip CII’ qualifications preferred.

Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies

  • The role is to be an ambassador for Travelers Europe Compliance internally, as well as with the regulators and at Lloyd’s; a high degree of professionalism and communication skills is required.
  • The role will have exposure to management. The incumbent must have an excellent awareness of the need for appropriate communication within the Company and the timely reporting of developing issues.
  • Good commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Intermediate Analytical skills.
  • Basic to Intermediate proficiency Data manipulation.
  • Basic to Intermediate proficiency and approach to enquiry.
  • Intermediate Team player with good interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Intermediate An articulate and effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Intermediate ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure to tight timelines.
  • Intermediate ability to act independently on own initiative as well as a team player.
