Looking for a busy, diverse & rewarding career – look no further!

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is looking for a Procurement Officer to provide support to our procurement partnership with Maidstone Borough Council. You will be providing advice and guidance on the appropriate procurement processes to key stakeholders and contract managers, ensuring that they are followed compliantly. The role will also provide administrative support to the Procurement department, with responsibilities for payment card purchases, transparency reports, utilities monitoring and stationery ordering.

    About you

You will need to have a keen eye for detail, and be comfortable working in a busy and varied role where prioritisation is key. You will be innovative and have the ability to problem solve in order to achieve the desired outcomes for our stakeholders.

This role will require a blended working approach, with a mix of remote working and office days. Your initial induction will be undertaken in the office, and the rest of your on-boarding will follow this blended approach. The mix will vary in line with the requirements of the organisation and workloads. This will require you to be self-sufficient and driven in order to achieve outcomes which are set on a weekly basis.

If you are a graduate, are looking to challenge yourself and develop a career, and ideally have experience within an office environment or customer facing role – we’d like to hear from you! We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, has a commitment to learning, and has a positive and proactive attitude. As well as dedicated support and training from your manager, we will also facilitate and fund your studies for Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Qualifications upon completion of your probation period.
