    We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Digital Project Manager to join the Digital Production & Development team.

    The Digital Production and Development Team is responsible for the rollout and continuous improvement of UKTV’s video on demand products under the digital brand UKTV Play, across a range of platforms including web, iOS, Android and TV devices. The team is made up of frontend and backend developers and designers, test analysts and project managers.

    We’re looking for a dynamic and proactive digital project manager to lead a key workstream within the project management team. Supported by the snr PM you will take ownership for a number of our TV apps, rolling out any high priority changes and ongoing maintenance.

    You’ll be responsible for the planning, scoping and management of projects, and communication to the rest of the team and stakeholders. You may also be pulled onto other projects, as necessary, juggling priorities appropriately.

    What you will do

    In this role you will get to:

    • Manage the day-to-day production requirements of a TV app stream of work
    • Work closely with team members, specifically BE and FE resources to overcome technical challenges
    • Co-ordinate complex releases with platform partners
    • Be the first point of contact for our platform partners, understanding requirements for new devices or triaging reported bugs
    • Liaise with our platform stakeholders and Product team to on work in-flight and new projects on the roadmap
    • Contribute to daily stand-ups together with the other PMs to ensure the team is clear on their tasks and priorities
    • Break projects down into stories that clearly state the story requirements, test cases, size and any further information or assets as relevant
    • Work closely with fellow project managers to manage the agile events within the team
    • Contribute to the sprint planning process to accurately size stories, establish team velocity and prioritise stories according to the wider priorities and strategy of stakeholders
    • Contribute to sprint showcases to inform the wider business of progress and to the sprint retrospectives to strive to improve processes
    • Keep the product owners and head of digital production in regular touch with progress and issues
    • Follow UKTV’s financial procedures ensuring all supplier agreements and payments are processed within company guidelines
    • Take ownership of the team's documentation within internal project tracking systems

    What we're looking for

    We are looking for someone who has:

    • Proactive in managing a range of direct-to-consumer projects within a multi-disciplined team
    • The ability to unblock technically complex issues and facilitate the right conversations to drive projects forward
    • Not afraid to challenge developers on technical solutions, to make sure all viable options have been explored
    • Confident managing stakeholders and building relationships with project sponsors
    • Adept at juggling conflicting priorities and multiple projects
    • Experience working with agile project management methodologies – sprints, stand-ups, stories, velocity, retrospectives, sprint planning, showcases etc.
    • Successfully deliver digital projects in a media-related industry, ideally in a broadcast environment
    • Awareness of wider market knowledge and tech trends to help make sound project management judgements and decisions
    • Strong relationship management and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across several teams and departments
    • Experience of working on a product long-term, seeing it through various iterations
    • A genuine passion for TV and the entertainment industry in general
    • Experience using Jira or similar tools
