    The Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) team within Strategic Technical Services is crucial in supporting the Uniper's green transformation strategy. The team provides vital technical EC&I support for the Uniper asset fleet. This role will offer you the opportunity to develop and work on a diverse range of technical EC&I issues facing the energy assets alongside knowledgeable and experienced engineers. You will be fully involved in delivering the low carbon energy sector of the future.     Your responsibilities

    • You will work with experienced engineers covering the EC&I subject areas such as:
      • Electrical power system modelling and Grid code compliance
      • All power plant electrical components, such as but not limited to transformers, generators, switchgears, protection systems, and excitation systems
      • Distributed control system
      • All the components within the power plant electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic plant control system
      • Process communication system including cyber security
    • Initially, you will be supporting experienced engineers in the following, with the expectation of eventually becoming responsible for their delivery:
      • Providing technical recommendations to the asset operation and maintenance team on various EC&I topics such as maintenance requirements, fault findings, and plant modifications.
      • Providing quality assurance inspection and supervision on site for works carried out by contractors.
      • Producing technical reports for technical investigations and feasibility studies.
    • You will have the opportunity to provide technical EC&I support to the wider Uniper international assets including those in Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden.
    • You will be required to travel to various off-site locations within the UK and possibly Europe, with the possibility of short-term placements at other Uniper locations within the first 18 months.

    Your profile

    Essential

    • A degree (minimum 2:1) or masters in electrical and electronic engineering or relevant engineering discipline
    • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal skills
    • Strong collaborative values and flexibility to work across a range of projects.
    • Good computer literacy
    • Willingness to travel and a Full UK driving Licence
