Role Purpose
The chosen candidate will work closely with our team responsible for the support and development of a mission critical Command & Control system, focusing on the development and support of the applications that form a key part of the managed service provided to our client. In particular, this would focus on the development and support of ‘First Contact’ components. The role would include providing day-to-day support for existing services as well as software enhancements as defined by our client.
Key Responsibilities
Working in a mission critical environment, in which the team provides support and development, the role will involve liaising with colleagues at all levels including Project Managers, Software Developers, Application Testers as well as Subject Matter Experts.

- Analyzing and resolving issues relating to interfaces between various system components
- Applying ingenuity and creativity in developing enhancements and new areas of functionality
Key Qualifications
- Successfully completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Completed degree course should be Computer Science or related
Key Skills
Technical skills:
Essential (at least two of the following):
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Interest/Experience of software development and application support
- Interest/Experience of software development lifecycles, including Agile or “Waterfall” frameworks
- An interest in complex IT systems
You are also likely to have an interest/experience in a broad range of web development tools with capability in any of the following being advantageous:
- .Net (C#), ASP.net, JavaScript, HTML, CSS development or support capability
- Web Development experience using the above technologies would be advantageous
- A working knowledge of MVC framework or similar would be beneficial
- Microsoft SQL Server development and scripting experience or similar
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar
Desirable:
- Knowledge or awareness of ‘Portrait Foundation (Configuration Suite)’ would be advantageous but not necessary as training will be offered
- Knowledge or awareness of the ITIL framework and how this applies to a managed service environment

- Good customer / telephone manner as will be expected talk to senior internal stakeholders

- Has a natural curiosity for technology
- Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment or as an independent contributor
