    We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join us on a 12 week internship placement to undertake the role of Project Support Officer within Southampton City Council’s Project and Change team.

    This internship may be of particular interest to people who want to progress in Project Management, there is no requirement for the student to have a qualification in a particular subject

    The internship will be support key strategic projects for the council, you will be working alongside experienced Project and Programme Managers.

    Who we're looking for

    The intern will need to have the following skills and experience:

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Strong organisational skills.
    • Experience of undertaking independent research.
    • Experience of working in a team, and of building relationships with new people in a professional setting.
    • Experience of understanding and interpreting large amounts of information, and summarising that information in a clear and concise way.
    • An excellent level of IT literacy and the ability to use MS Office systems, including Microsoft Excel in particular.

    The Intern will need to be confident, enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work proactively and independently. They should have a strong interest in Project Management.

    The Project and Change Team are responsible for supporting key projects and Programmes across the council that support the delivery of the Corporate Plan.
