    Job accountabilities

    • As a graduate geoenvironmental engineer, you will be mainly involved in project work within multi-disciplinary engineering teams, so the ability to work effectively as part of a team is a key aspect of the role.
    • You will work alongside an experienced team including geotechnical engineers, environmental planners, ecologists and reservoir engineers, as well as external consultants and regulatory bodies
    • Using your expertise, you'll undertake desk based research, risk based report writing, planning ground investigations, site supervision and data interpretation. Confirming sources, pathways and receptors of potential land contamination on proposed development sites, honing and relying on your understanding of detailed environmental monitoring including laboratory analysis.
    • Day to day, you will be responsible for determining the nature and quality of ground conditions for purposes including geological / geotechnical assessment, soil contamination, ground gas assessments, waste management and groundwater quality. Using your knowledge in environmental risk assessments to inform design decisions ensuring developments are protective of human health and the environment, including water quality.
    • You will develop your skills in land contamination risk management, gain knowledge of health and safety techniques and the regulatory environment through a balance of office and site work. All of which are important in meeting our objectives
    • Our graduate Geoenvironmental engineers will have the opportunity to take part in placements within the wider business, and be supported with their initial professional development towards chartership with an appropriate professional body.

    We require our geoenvironmental engineer graduates to be master degree level qualified with:

    • MSc / MEng / MRes degree in soil and groundwater contamination or similar environmental subject and BSc in a relevant subject (such as environmental engineering, earth sciences or chemistry)

    You will need to have

    • Great interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
    • Good team working skills, possessing ambition and drive
    • Ability to interpret and manage environmental data
    • Desire to pursue personal development and build a career in the geoenvironmental sector
    • A valid UK Driving Licence

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment centre which are taking place between 6th-15th December 2023.
