    The role

    The Systems Thinking Integration Manager is a key role working with the Systems Thinking Design Manager to align delivery activity across the business ensuring a joined up approach across all aspects of people, processes, data and systems. Principally the role will lead on one or more business areas, within the Systems Thinking Programme:

    • Leading the development of the proposed ‘to be' processes, in line with the Target Operating Model, and translating them into a set of deliverables that support the programme commitment to improving the levels of Systems Thinking maturity.
    • Collaborating with business teams from across Water, Wastewater and Digital Services to develop solutions and activities to deliver Systems Thinking capability improvement, defining packages of work, securing the required resources (people and funding) and commissioning delivery project activity where necessary.
    • Making submissions to Business Transformation Boards to secure buy in to solutions where necessary.
    • Ensure that the delivery of solutions incorporates the appropriate readiness activity so that new processes and products are adopted across Water, Wastewater and Digital Services.

    Job Accountabilities

    • Shape Systems Thinking roadmaps and workstream(s) into clear plan(s) for delivery, ensuring that the impact of solutions across teams is fully understood and considered at each stage of development and plans to address are incorporated into the wider business transformation programmes.
    • Oversee and report on the delivery of their workstream(s), ensuring delivery to time and cost.
    • Manages self, whilst leading and coordinating collaboration across teams of business and support functions (e.g. business team representatives, business analysts, delivery project managers etc) to deliver activity in line with plans, owning and resolving issues that affect the successful attainment of capability improvement.
    • Facilitating stakeholder workshops to understand and achieve desired business outcomes.
    • Engage and motivate business leaders and teams to deliver plans.
    • Works closely with all stakeholders and partners to ensure alignment between business priority and programme priority.
    • Using standard tools and techniques to track, manage and report on workstream risks and issues, enabling escalation to Transformation Board as appropriate.
    • Monitoring, tracking and reporting on process confirmation, embedment and overall ways of working adoption
    • Measured on, Work stream delivery to agreed baseline plan/roadmap (time and cost), Capability Maturity improvement, Process confirmation and embedment

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Strong track record and experience of working in a changing environment where uncertainty and ambiguity is high.
    • Understanding of business analysis tools and approaches (e.g. process mapping, requirements mapping etc) and their application to solve large scale and/or complex problems to develop solutions that are supported by a range of stakeholders
    • Knowledge of the application of RACI
    • Excellent facilitation, planning and organisation skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills to liaise with a wide range of people across UU
    • Strong influencing and negotiating skills to ensure delivery of work streams to tight timescales
    • A track record of working collaboratively
    • Resilience, flexibility and adaptability to address challenges and changing circumstances beyond direct control
    • Knowledge of United Utilities' project and business change frameworks
    • Ability to engage, motivate and manage cross functional teams and partners to deliver solutions that are best for UU
    • A track record of project management and delivery approaches (waterfall, agile etc) would be preferable (professional accreditation/recognition would be an advantage)
