The A Side: A Day in The Life

Commercial Affairs is a cross functional service centre providing informed operational support, project management and digital solutions that drive revenue for labels and markets. Functions include new release management, pricing & commercial terms, commercial analysis, commercial technology, digital partner management, international campaigns creation, direct to consumer and international trade management.

In this role you would be the general team assistant across the Commercial Operations dept and Commercial Technologies dept, reporting to the Director of Analysis, and assisting VP Technologies and VP of Commercial Operations.

The B Side: Skills & Experience

 Be Collaborative

  • Assist with generation of Monthly Partner Report Updates
  • Working on smaller analysis projects with the commercial technologies team

Be Data-driven

  • Help deep-dive into market/partner specific analysis covering subscriptions, physical sales, market share, revenue, and artist-specific consumption and performance
  • Develop and automate reporting scripts in Big Query
  • Interpret and visualise insights and data into presentations
  • Dashboard creation using DOMO and Google Data Studio

Be Organised

  • Scheduling conference calls and meetings as required
  • Financial related responsibilities including use of the UMG online payment system – Uniport, and expenses
  • Coordinating presentations where required

Person Specification

Necessary

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a good telephone manner
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Familiarity /practical knowledge of SQL and Python / R programming languages or equivalent
  • Strong IT Skills and knowledge of Word, Outlook, Keynote, Powerpoint or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge and manipulation of Excel or equivalent
  • Ability to prioritise to tight deadlines, with a strong sense of initiative and discretion
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Resilient and tenacious
  • A love of music

Desirable

  • Experience, even if limited, with data processing (large data sets) and statistical analysis, models and algorithms, and data architectures
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Macs and Mac based packages or equivalent
