The A side: A day in the life
Fantastic chance to join the busy and vibrant Film & TV team at Universal Music Publishing, clearing our vast catalogue to UK clients and our UMPG offices around the World.
We are looking for someone hard working, flexible and friendly to join the team and help us continue to build on this growing area of sync licensing.
This team operates a hybrid working policy of 4 days per week in the office; Mon-Thursday, with Friday working from home.
The B side: skills & experience
What your day to day will look like!
- As required, working with our international offices and sub-publishers around the world to clear and licence our UK catalogue globally – flagging key uses with UK F&TV team.
- Negotiate with UK clients as directed, including film festivals, student films, stage shows, charity etc and license UMPG copyrights and follow internal processes. Handle bulk projects obo other team members as required eg music-based games or TV shows.
- Regularly communicating with writers and managers and developing relationships with our international colleagues
- Assisting the Senior Licensing Manager with chasing up and following up on existing paperwork – payments, missing paperwork and other such required items.
- Assisting with matching up monies received to the correct invoice from weekly Bank Credits that are produced by the Accounts Department.
- Assisting with drafting Invoices and Licenses once familiar with the procedures and systems.
- Issuing Writer/Song Activity Reports (this will be requested as and when required)
- Following up on general queries to the Licensing Inbox and to the Film & TV department.
- To support the Senior Licensing Manager, Head of Licensing and SVP European Head of the Film & TV with ad-hoc projects and administrative duties.
- Occasionally attend concerts, showcases and events on behalf of the company with clients

Essential
- Previous experience of administration
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Exemplary attention to detail and enjoys a good spreadsheet!
- Ability to work under own initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Flexible, quick to learn and able to manage own workload
- Hard working and able to follow instructions
- Enthusiastic, self motivated and ability to show initiative
- Good organisation and communication skills
- Team player with a flexible approach
- Good attitude – no job is too small or too big!
Desirable
- Previous experience of Sync Licensing
- Music industry experience from a publishing, records or music rights negotiation background
- knowledge of Universal Music Publishing’s catalogue
- Confident negotiator
