Anatomy teaching is based in the Suttie centre on the Foresterhill campus, which is a modern, purpose-built facility. Prosection-based anatomy teaching is delivered across a full academic year to medical, dental and science students. Dissection-based courses are available for some undergraduate and for postgraduate surgical training courses. Research into basic and applied anatomical topics is also a key activity in anatomy.
About the role
Anatomy is responsible for the care of human cadaveric material and its use in teaching and research. This post is a key part of that provision and will support our existing technical team to deliver a first-class service to all our users.
Working within a modern, successful, and well-equipped anatomy facility, you will require a good working knowledge of human anatomy to co-ordinate and prepare prosections for teaching purposes. In addition, you will be self-directed and organised to ensure that comprehensive records are maintained to the standards required by the Anatomy Act, as well as carrying out general technical duties as required. There will also be opportunities to be involved with postgraduate surgical courses. You will work closely with 3 other technicians, academic and administrative staff within a busy teaching facility to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 4 scale, £25,742 - £29,605 per annum, pro rata and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
