    The Applications Management Division is a significant and important part of the Directorate of Digital and Information Services. The team play a crucial role in the design, procurement, development, implementation and support of business-critical University application services, and the maintenance and protection of the underlying data that underpins their operation.

    The Microsoft Technologies Development Team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and delivery of Microsoft 365 technologies such as SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform and CRM Dynamics.

    This role is for a Junior Software Developer who will contribute to the activities of the Microsoft Technologies Development team. In particular the development, maintenance, and support of a range of applications built using Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft SharePoint.

    Who we're looking for

    You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) or have relevant equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will be working as either a Graduate Trainee Developer or Junior Software Developer with experience using Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Power Platform and/or SharePoint.

    You should possess analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate and interact with a broad range of people. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a requirement alongside strong time management and organisational skills.

    You should have a background in software development, including familiarity with the full Software Development Lifecycle and awareness of project management methodologies. Ideally you will have experience collaborating with customers and business representatives to understand business processes and preparing Requirements Specifications for consumption by customers and other developers.

    Experience of test-driven development is desirable.

    Additional Information

    Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 salary scale, (£29,619 - £33,314 per annum) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience. Any appointment will be made subject to satisfactory references and probation period.

    This role is based in the UK and as such the successful candidate will be required to live and work in the UK. The candidate appointed to this post may be eligible for homeworking on an occasional or regular basis.
