    The Star Project

    Funded by OfS and ResearchEngland to support projects to increase the participation of global majority in research careers. UEL’s project expands our understanding of a research career through five work packages designed to promote research advocacy and to showcase the role of research in different career paths and organisations. This includes: a new MRes suite in Social Justice with disciplinary specialisms; a CPD course for community and voluntary sector groups seeking to increase their research capacity; an extended ProfDoc programme; a package to build research advocacy skills with undergraduates; an outreach package to work with local schools. The project runs until October 2025.

    About the job

    This role offers an exciting opportunity to assist in the development of the STAR Project and other ICC. You will also be expected to undertake some research methods teaching on the ICC MREs will run for the first time in 2024. Furthermore, you will encouraged to make a strong contribution to the continued development of research within the Institute in keeping with key themes ( health and wellbeing online and offline, youth and community, ageing and cybercrime and online harms, EDI and working with marginalised groups) working closely with the Institute Leads and will be expected to develop their own research profile.
