Do you want to gain experience in planning and managing events which engage with alumni and supporters of the university? Can you make a positive contribution to creating special events that support the University’s philanthropic goals?

    The Role

The Advancement Team at the University of Leeds engages with one of the largest alumni communities in UK higher education, with more than 300,000 graduates in 197 countries around the world.

We help alumni stay connected and involved with the University to become donors, volunteers, advocates and ambassadors, creating opportunities for students and graduates, supporting research programmes and furthering the University’s global reputation. The Team has grown significantly over the past year to enable us to play our part in delivering the University’s ambitious strategy through enhanced engagement with our global alumni and supporter community.

As the Events Intern you will join the Alumni and Supporter Engagement (ASE) Team, which is one of three sub-teams within the Advancement Team. The ASE Team supports the delivery of our communications, events, volunteering and global network programmes.

We are looking for a current Leeds student to join us for 12 months from June or July 2023. You will work with members of the Events team to offer a wide variety of events for our donor community. These will range from small bespoke dinners to large receptions and gala dinners which will take place in both Leeds and London as well as online to reach our global alumni community.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a creative and enthusiastic events team and gain experience and skills in events management. You will need to have excellent communication, organisational and planning skills, and have the ability to manage and prioritise a large range of tasks and complete activities to agreed deadlines. You enjoy working as part of a team and enjoying making a proactive contribution to project development and improvement review.
