Estates and Campus Services is looking to recruit a full time Assistant Gardeners to join the Gardens and Grounds team.
The purpose of this role is to prepare, maintain turfed surfaces, trees, hedgerows, shrubs and sports grounds. To maintain and improve a safe and pleasant environment for our students, staff and visitors and to enhance biodiversity on the campus.
You will be involved in some safety work, such as snow/ice clearing and litter picking to ensure the safety of all visitors to the University estate.
About You
As an ideal candidate you will have knowledge of manual handling and be able to meet the physical demands of the job as outlined in the job summary.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills. Being comfortable talking to a variety of staff, students and University visitors to ensure their safety and assist where possible, such as providing directions.
You will be able to manage your own time and be comfortable working alone on tasks assigned to you by the Team Leaders.
