    Become a key player in advancing neurological research within Sussex Neuroscience. We are seeking a Research Assistant to support Dr Mahmoud Bukar Maina's team, focusing on establishing a tauopathy registry in northern Nigeria and a biobank of induced pluripotent stem cells. You'll have the chance to support ongoing work on the basic mechanism of tauopathies and the contribution of African genetic background.

    About the role

    This position places you at the centre of a collaborative effort between Dr Maina's team and researchers based at Sussex Neuroscience and Washington State University. You will not only contribute to iPSC biobanking but also the differentiation of these cells into specialized neurons to further our understanding of the role of tau protein in the nucleolus.

    Your work will bridge continents and disciplines, connecting with both local communities and international experts.
