This post is term time only, working 35 weeks per year. Working weeks will be full time, 35 hours. The post is fixed term until June 2024. Salary stated above is the pro-rata amount, full time salary would be £27,951 per annum (Incl. LWA)
About the role
As a Graduate Technician in Music Technology, you will play a vital role in supporting the technician team in delivering a range of customer-focused technical services within the Music and Sound Production department. Providing support to UG/PG courses and the core activities of the College/Schools and its users.
The role requires candidates to have a base level knowledge in sound engineering, recording and live performance/production, knowledge of analogue and digital sound systems, mixing desks and recording hardware, DAW’s and industry-standard software.
Support and assist students in their practical coursework. Participate in and support the range of public performances and activities of the music courses and University. Support the technician team in providing provision of a high-quality technical service to colleagues, students and external clients/users. Ensure that the music facilities are properly maintained and available when required and maintain a room booking facility.
As the successful candidate you will have good organisation, IT and communication skills; be able to work both under direction and independently; be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of staff and students; and possess current skills in media production relevant to the role. The role requires the ability to work daytime, evening and weekend shifts.
