About the role
Main purpose of job is to support the investment team and wider business in delivering a high-quality professional client service to both internal and external customers to specified and required standards. To be instrumental in the ongoing development of the Firm’s data analytics and automation of process through data driven modelling and reporting. Offering support to the client facing team, by creating reports, data models and other tools.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Seek out and develop knowledge and understanding of the Firm’s information from all available sources e.g. fund manager reporting, data feeds and web sites etc.
- Integrating sourced information and data to produce reports, charts and other methods to analyse performance/volatility/allocation.
- Prepare and execute project work plans as required and revise when appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Establish effective working relationships with IT and investment teams, responding to their needs as they arise, recognising which issues/events may affect delivery to clients and regularly updating on progress.
- Ensure that relevant databases hold accurate and up to date information for reporting purposes.
- Interacting with and interfacing between multiple data sources such as SQL and Excel.
- Produce dashboards of information for consumption by teams throughout the business using data analytics tools
- Assist in the conducting of audits to identify risks and/or non-compliance with legislative, or regulatory requirements.
- Record and retain data in accordance with the business procedures and specifically in line with the “Compliance Procedures Manual” and data protection legislation requirements.
- Undertake all required training to develop relevant personal knowledge, capability, and skills, pursuing qualifications relevant to the role.
- Demonstrate up to date knowledge is maintained through ongoing professional development and document in line with internal procedures.
- Adhere to all stated policies and procedures relating to, compliance, health and safety, and quality management etc.
- Additional responsibilities (list of other duties that post holder may be required to undertake from time to time)
- Writing code to process data such as VBScript within Excel macros.
- Considered analysis to support business decision making through review of data, identifying trends and insights.
- Review and building of business processes through the business workflow system.
- Presentation of work to colleagues and Partners.
Essential Criteria
- Educated to degree level (Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Software Engineering preferred).
Desired criteria
- Experience & knowledge
- Experience of data analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, R or others.
- Experience of investment, pensions, or actuarial work, as well as Cloud based applications, Flow, machine learning tools, and other automation work would be advantageous.
