About the Role
We are looking for a talented software developer to join a diverse, growing team. You will be responsible for the creation of eLearning content for a range of topics on internal and external projects.
Duties will involve iteratively designing and building eLearning content and implementing any changes put forward in the internal and external review process. You will be responsible for the testing and uploading of new content to the LMS system, ensuring a fully functioning product is available for the end user.
The software developer will create content through authoring tools such as Captivate and Articulate 360. The type of software utilised will differ and evolve depending on the project. A willingness to learn and an adaptive, problem-solving mindset is critical to this role. Meeting deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of quality is expected, along with keeping the status of tasks and objectives up to date in our project tracking software.
The software developer is expected to consistently demonstrate creative thinking and continuously strive for excellence utilising a wide range of digital learning techniques that aim to improve the user experience and levels of engagement. These could include creation of graphics, quizzes, games/gamification, animations and video. The course topic and target learner will vary, adaptability is needed to ensure appropriate tone and style.
This role requires a creative individual who can work to a brief, but also follow a set of brand guidelines and ensure internal content produced fits in with our broader library. The ideal candidate will be technically minded, with abilities not only to design courses but develop games and other technical aspects.
Essential Skills
- Educated to Degree Level in Web Design or something similar.
- Experience using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Rise and Captivate or similar product.
- Experience using multimedia packages such as the Creative Cloud Suite.
- Video editing experience using tools such as Camtasia and Vyond.
- Basic understanding of version control and the wider development process.
- Basic understanding of the concepts of reusability and scalability.
Desirable Skills
- Experience administering a learning management system platform such as Talent LMS.
- Advanced multimedia skills e.g. CSS, creation of 360 motion capture video, exceptional digital art capability.
- Experience in UX design and understanding of human-computer interaction.
- Experience / desire to learn game engines such as Unity, particularly for Virtual Reality.
- Advanced technical capability e.g. Java and HTML5 experience.
