    About the Role

    We are looking for an ambitious VR developer to build and deploy various learning experiences. You would operate as part of a growing team, with a passionate mindset to create excellent work for a range of both external and internal projects.

    This role would suit a generalist programmer, who would enjoy getting involved in different disciplines of programming and assist with rapid prototyping. The focus of the projects range in nature, so a willingness to openly engage with the creative process and adapt to change is necessary.

    This role will focus on building and deploying VR scenarios in Unity and ensuring the applications run smoothly in standalone headsets such as the Oculus Quest 2 and the Pico Neo 3.

    Ensuring a high-quality experience for our end user and fixing bugs is paramount. Meeting deadlines whilst maintaining a high quality is expected, along with keeping the status of tasks and objectives up to date.

    Regarding the innovative nature of what we do and the rapid improvements in technology, sharing your ideas and providing advice to the wider team is essential.  Adopting a growth mindset and striving to continuously improve the products is expected as a minimum.

    Essential Skills

    • Educated to Degree Level in Games Development, Computer Science or similar.
    • Strong Programming skills in C++ or similar languages.
    • Practical knowledge of Unity or Unreal.
    • Experience with version control systems.
    • Understanding of the software development cycle.
    • Understanding of the concepts of reusability and scalability.

    Desirable Skills

    • Experience in developing VR applications in Unity or similar game engine.
    • Experience in UX design and understanding of human-computer interaction.
    • Experience with multiple disciplines of programming such as gameplay, UI, tools etc
    • Experience and interest in VR blueprint systems such as Engage and AltSpaceVR.
