    The focus of this role will be to support senior Corporate team members in developing datasets, models and written content that will provide insightful analysis for our clients.

    The role holder will closely monitor news flow in the oil & gas, renewable energy, hydrogen, CCUS and metals & mining sectors, assess company reported data and commercial developments, and analyse data to contribute to regional research content for Wood Mackenzie’s growing Corporate Service.

    The successful candidate will develop industry and client relationships with an initial focus on supporting the delivery of our growing Corporate Power & Renewables and Corporate Metals & Mining services. The role offers a great opportunity to learn from some of the world’s leading experts in corporate strategy and the energy transition. A client-centric approach, combined with great attention to detail, will be essential to deliver successfully in this role.

    Main responsibilities

    • Gather and organise corporate-level data (financial, operational and ESG) from different sources in a timely manner, bringing information together to enhance our coverage and insight on company performance, targets and strategy.
    • Contribute to the development of new models and tools that will form the basis of client-facing products
    • Leverage our differentiated datasets and modelling to benchmark companies and peer groups.
    • Regularly contribute to original analysis, publications and presentations that influence clients’ business perspectives.
    • Support the wider Corporate team on ad-hoc assignments
    • Interact regularly with clients to enhance WoodMac’s reputation as a trusted authority.
    • Generate innovative ideas and solutions to support improvements in internal processes or quality of our research and service to clients.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge and experience

    • Experience or knowledge relating to energy, natural resources or renewables
    • Interest in corporate strategy and the transformation of the energy & natural resources sectors
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experiencing working with data using Excel, Python, or other big data platforms and programming languages
    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in related field such as business, finance, economics, earth science or engineering
