Job description

Verisk Maplecroft’s Markets Team is responsible for producing research and applied data analytics for the company’s financial sector clients, as well as co-developing relevant products in partnership with the Product team. The team is organised by asset class and has an extremely varied and demanding workflow focused on helping investors and banks to incorporate ESG, climate and political risks into their investment processes and decisions.

You will report directly into the Head of Markets and work collaboratively across the Markets team – and in partnership with other areas of the business - to support on the development, maintenance and delivery of data products and Power BI tools, as well as more generally on other ad-hoc tasks as required. You will also have the opportunity to author data-driven analysis for clients and externally, receiving extensive peer review and feedback, and over time can expect to develop specialised areas of focus. You can also expect to engage regularly with clients and prospects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree level in a subject with a quantitative element, including fundamentals of probability and statistics (required)
  • Some work experience in a related role (preferred)
  • Demonstrable interest, via either qualifications, work experience or other achievements, in sustainable finance and/or economics (required)
  • Advanced Excel skills (required)
  • Experience using Power BI for data analysis and visualisation (preferred)
  • Experience using Python for data analysis, including relevant statistics and visualizations libraries (preferred)
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Collaborative attitude
