    Colchester Vets for Pets is looking for a new or recently graduated vet to join their team and our award-winning graduate scheme.

    The role

    Colchester is located in north Essex, with an easy commute to Stansted Airport (£2 by bus) and London by train (less than 60 minutes away).

    The team consists of 16 vets with varied levels of experience, special interests and areas of expertise. Advanced Surgery Certificate holder, Medicine Certificate holder with 8 other vets soon to receive the results of their certificate exams (Exotics, Medicine, ECC, Ophthalmology, Surgery)
    We offer a complete service with 24hr patient care, CT, Endoscopy, Advanced Ultrasound, 1st opinion as well as advanced care.

You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated mentor/Vet GDP Advisor, you’ll also be able to take paid leave to attend the varied CPD programme designed by vets specifically for new graduates. As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your own client base and see the continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You won’t be in sole charge of cases until you’re ready.

    In order for you to thrive at our practices you need to be a hardworking, conscientious, confident, resilient individual with excellent English communication skills.     The role is full-time with 1 in 4 weekends. 2 long weekends off every 4 weeks. Up to 3 inpatient care late shifts every 4 weeks.

    As a standard on the Graduate Development Programme we offer a 2 year programme with no financial tie-ins, guaranteed starting salary of at least £34,000 per annum with reviews each year on programme, 10-12 clinical/non-clinical structure CPD days a year with covered travel costs, access to wellbeing support and free membership of wellbeing app and support with practice transfer should the need to arise. We also arrange fun social activities where you can engage with your fellow graduates!
