Get practice ready with Vets for Pets and Companion Care.

Norwich Hall Road Vets for Pets is looking for a new or recently graduated vet to join their team and our award-winning graduate scheme.

Norwich is a lovely city to live and work in with what we think of is the right mixture of city and countryside. We are 30 mins from the beach, 10 mins from the broads yet only 5 minutes drive away from the city centre.

    About us

We are one of three Vets for Pets practices in Norwich and although we are situated inside Pets at Home we are individually owned and run.
We have a supportive, experienced team as across the group with certificate holders in surgery and ophthalmology and four other vets currently studying for certificates. We have a brand-new ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, endoscopy, tonometry, slit lamp, multi parameter units for both theatres and full in-house lab.

Our Hall Road branch opened 12 years ago and is a very busy small animal first opinion practice. Our Joint Venture Partner Stephan Martini has a love of orthopaedics and surgery and regularly does Cruciate and Patella repairs along with simple fracture fixations.

We have a varied caseload with the ability to work up cases in house and clinical freedom to do so. We are always looking to improve our standards with regular clinical meetings, journal club and CPD. We are always striving to improve our work life balance and the mental health of our team.

We have recently appointed a mental health first aider and are implementing the BVA good workplace guide.

With genuine support and emphasis on your wellbeing, you can realise and maintain your full potential in an environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance too.

You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated mentor/Vet GDP Advisor, you’ll also be able to take paid leave to attend the varied CPD programme designed by vets specifically for new graduates. As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your own client base and see the continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You won’t be in sole charge of cases until you’re ready.

The role is full-time 40 hours a week and some weekend work on a rota basis.

    About the role

As a standard on the Graduate Development Programme we offer a 2 year programme with no financial tie-ins, a guaranteed starting salary of at leastç per annum with reviews each year on programme, 10-12 clinical/non-clinical structure CPD days a year with covered travel costs, access to wellbeing support and free membership of wellbeing app and support with practice transfer should the need to arise. We also arrange fun social activities where you can engage with your fellow graduates!
