The Internship position is offered as an opportunity for an Engineering undergraduate to benefit from some real-world engineering experience whilst undertaking entry level work to help the business with its project and customer deliverables.
The position is within the Mechanical Design team but the Intern should be ready to undertake work in conjunction with different functions within the business eg product test & QA departments. Appropriate support and on the job training will be provided.
What you'll be doing
- Operates as team member on a variety of customer and internal development projects.
- Works with other members of the hardware and software teams to develop and validate new automation equipment and labware.
- Operates CAD system, company data-management system (Agile PLM) and other business IT tools.
- Conducts tests on equipment and / or labware and evaluates results.
- Produces documentation, (eg test results reports, design calculations) and records in company’s document management system.
- Introduces design or process improvements where applicable, eg. assists with the generation of standard templates for calculations and / or reports.
What you'll need
- To be considered for this role you should be part way through a recognised engineering degree course (2 years preferred).
- Enthusiastic, willing to learn and cooperate with teammates within the business.
- Be able to undertake controlled experiments and document results; be able to record design calculations and various other analyses.
- Confident in IT; eg Excel, Word, Outlook
