Overall purpose of the job
The position is offered as an opportunity for a Business Administration/Project Management or other relevant graduate to benefit from some real-world Project and Program Management and Business experience whilst undertaking graduate level work to help the business with its Project Management function to enable better project delivery.
The position is within the Global Quality team however the ideal candidate should be ready to undertake work with Project and Program Managers and Project Teams in all areas of the business. The intern will work in the newly created PMO organisation and will learn how projects operate across a matrix organisation and be exposed to all functions of the business.
Key responsibilities and activities
- Operates as a team member and reports to the PMO Manager.
- Works with other members of the Program Management and Quality team to review Project Processes and procedures.
- Assists with developing and documenting project processes.
- Becomes expert with Project Management methodologies and ISO Project Management standards.
- Undertake Project management of a suitable project and develop practical knowledge of the role.
- Assist PMO Manager to construct a monthly dashboard providing a global portfolio view of all projects in Azenta.
- Monitors and reports on governance of projects and approvals
- Charts and reports on projects status with information taken from multiple sources.
- Develops improved and automated opportunities to harmonize and present the PMO information.
- Work with Project teams to provide support in terms of information, process and templates.
- Maintains the PMO Global website and updates with news, information, process and templates.
- Maintain the Portfolio SharePoint site and ensures PMs enter and create the correct documentation.
- Supports PMO Manager in auditing of Projects and project process.
- Develop knowledge of project planning tools
- Develop knowledge of Microsoft Project and POL and its use in Azenta
- Undertake any testing required with developing POL reports.
- Manage own workload effectively and address areas of improvement, challenges, or problems.
- Other duties as they arise
Support or training will be provided in use of – Microsoft Project, PMP, Business Process Management Notation (BPMN), SharePoint, Excel, Smartsheets.

Skills and aptitude profile
- Studying undergraduate Degree (Business, Administration, Business Studies, Project management or relevant)
- Willingness and ability to learn new tools – MS Project, POL, Smartsheets, Power BI reporting, SharePoint Development, Excel
- Ability to understand detailed requirements and documents.
- Excellent organisational, presentation and documentation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Time management and ability to work independently.
This is a 1 year fixed term appointment. You will be exposed to a wide range of projects and business functions - and will have an opportunity to lead a project.
