The IT team here at VWFS are a customer focussed department that work as part of a global IT Team. They work in a fast moving industry where technology is at the core of delivering services and Innovation.
The IT Risk and Security function provides enterprise-wide, risk-based security and governance capabilities to meet changing internal and external threat scenarios while supporting the achievement of IT and Organisational Strategic objectives
There are two placement opportunities to gain further insight into other IT functions based on your degree discipline. You will gain invaluable, hands on experience with exposure to different IT functions, business departments and projects in order to develop and further your skills whilst learning how these functions work together to support the commercial goals of VWFS
What you will be doing
- You will support the ongoing monitoring and analysis of IT Risk and Cyber Security threats, ensuring risks relating to the use, ownership, operation and adoption of IT remain within the set risk standards
- You will develop, manage and support IT Risk & Cyber security monitoring & reporting activities to ensure transparency and enable effective managerial decision making
- You will support the co-ordination of IT Risk & Cyber security assessments to identify risks across the Organisation
- You will work to ensure analysis and Cyber security assessments are completed by colleagues
- You will work with multiple IT managers to develop & embed analytics
- You will be responsible for planning and co-ordinating regulatory driven processes and associated remediation activities to ensure mitigating activities are delivered successfully
- Maintenance and monitoring of the actions captured and tracked within the IT Risk Treatment Plan
- You will be responsible for supporting and aligning Cyber security and IT Risk documentation with published HQ global standards, local needs and leading practice
- Plan, develop and conduct regular training for employees in Cyber security awareness, risk management in policy & processes
- You will be working closely with IT Supplier Management Team to monitor and collate risks relating to outsourced VWFS UK partners and 3rd parties
What can you bring with you?
- You will be enrolled at a University which offers a 1 year industrial placement
- Working towards an IT or Business related degree with an interest in IT Risk & Security disciplines would be desirable
- Interested in Cybersecurity, risk management including technologies & systems
- You are a good verbal and written communicator
- You have a strong work ethic and pay close attention to detail
- You have the ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate in a team setting, as well as work independently

What to expect from the assessment process
Once you have hit the apply button, you will be asked to complete multiple-choice questions to supplement your application. We’ll be in touch shortly after receiving your application to advise if you have been successful to complete an online video interview for you to tell us more about yourself.
After completing your video interview, if successful, your final step in the journey will be for you to attend a virtual assessment centre, where there will be a Competency Based Interview, a Presentation and a Group Exercise. We will provide you with appropriate support and guidance prior to attending. You will also have the opportunity to meet some of our managers as well as our current Undergraduates. This process is designed to help both of us to work out if a placement here is the best next step for you.
