Role Description
Central Sales Executive
Our Fleet department manages our Business-to-Business (B2B) Customer Portfolio. This portfolio consists of companies leasing our vehicles for business purposes. We manage all aspects of their contract, from ordering the car, collecting rentals, contract activation and returning vehicles at contract end.
Our expertise and knowledge means we can help our customers find the right solutions for their fleet. We are one of the UKs largest leasing companies with a stated ambition for further growth. This placement will give you the opportunity to work with our Volkswagen Group brands and with all manufacturers in the industry.
Your main responsibility is to support the Sales team to achieve their sales targets and to provide an excellent service to our customers and the dealer network. You will be able to liaise with stakeholders across the business and come away from your placement year with an invaluable understanding of a fast moving sales environment, key for anyone looking to secure a career in a global organisation in the future.
Internal Account Manager
You will provide support to Internal Account Managers & the Field Sales team, and be a point of contact for day to day customer enquiries.
Supporting with bids, tenders and vehicle quotations, handling inbound customer enquiries, having accountability for completing customer led activities, escalation of issues to relevant senior stakeholders and other administrative tasks including complaints management. All to help ensure VWFS Fleet retain and grow the business. You will do this by delivering an excellent customer experience.
This placement year is sure to give you a broad and in-depth understanding as to how our Fleet Business is run and provide you with the opportunity to start building a business network.
Who You Are
- You will be enrolled at a University which offers a 1 year industrial placement
- Have a proven record of academic success with an interest in the automotive industry
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to deal with a variety of tasks and meet deadlines
- You pay close to attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- You are able to communicate clearly with the business both verbally and in writing
- You use your own initiative to answer questions and solve queries
- You take a proactive and flexible approach with the ability to react appropriately and effectively to changing circumstances and demands

What to expect from the assessment process
Once you have hit the apply button, you will be asked to complete multiple-choice questions to supplement your application. We’ll be in touch shortly after receiving your application to advise if you have been successful to complete an online video interview for you to tell us more about yourself.
After completing your video interview, if successful, your final step in the journey will be for you to attend a virtual assessment centre, where there will be a Competency Based Interview, a Presentation and a Group Exercise. We will provide you with appropriate support and guidance prior to attending. You will also have the opportunity to meet some of our managers as well as our current Undergraduates. This process is designed to help both of us to work out if a placement here is the best next step for you.
