The Asset Risk Department at VWFS UK is responsible for forecasting the Residual Values (RV - how much a new car will be worth in 3 years’ time) that underpin the majority of the finance we offer to our customers.
This is predominantly focused around the VW group brands containing VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Lamborghini, Bentley and Porsche. This process has a huge impact on the future value of vehicles so attention to detail is imperative.
The Asset Risk Team has touchpoints with every department within VWFS, giving you an excellent exposure to the wider business.
What you will be doing
- You will provide analysis and forecasting recommendations to assist in setting residual values
- You will be responsible for providing senior management with both quantitative and qualitative analysis of risks on the residual value portfolio
- You will work with the Asset Risk Manager to ensure continuous review of methodologies used, ensuring best practice is adopted by VWFS
- You will be part of a team that carries out quarterly stock audits on a variety of auction sites across the UK where vehicles are held at the end of their contract
- Provide analysis for the Asset Risk and Risk Management teams, in particular identification of new and or developing risks
What can you bring with you?
- You will be enrolled at a University which offers a 1 year industrial placement
- Studying a Business, Economics or Maths related degree with proven record of academic success
- Have a keen interest in the automotive industry
- A willingness to use your own initiative and a readiness to learn
- You are analytical focused and accurate, with an interest in data and financial analysis
- You have the ability to organise and prioritise work and deliver to strict deadlines
- You are a confident communicator when working both in a team and individually
- You have an Intermediate level of excel knowledge and skills

What to expect from the assessment process
Once you have hit the apply button, you will be asked to complete multiple-choice questions to supplement your application. We’ll be in touch shortly after receiving your application to advise if you have been successful to complete an online video interview for you to tell us more about yourself.
After completing your video interview, if successful, your final step in the journey will be for you to attend a virtual assessment centre, where there will be a Competency Based Interview, a Presentation and a Group Exercise. We will provide you with appropriate support and guidance prior to attending. You will also have the opportunity to meet some of our managers as well as our current Undergraduates.
