Your new role
An exciting opportunity with unique exposure to two growth marketing teams (EMEA Subscriber Acquisition & EMEA Subscriber Retention/Engagement). This role will help develop the intern’s skills and be part of two teams driving subscriber growth, retention & revenue across our streaming services HBO Max & Discovery+. The intern will learn about operating in a matrix organization across multiple geographic locations.
We are looking for an intern with a “doer” mentality, a positive attitude and an interest in digital marketing, trends, and data analysis.
Your role accountabilities
- Support the team in driving acquisition strategy between HBO Max and Discovery+, collaborating with stakeholders within the subscriber acquisition team and in the broader EMEA streaming marketing team.
- Learn to analyse data to glean insights into retention drivers to be used in retention campaign reports.
- Update & run retention campaign performance reports and use the insights gained to update campaign presentation and monitor key campaign performance metrics.
- Update marketing and subscriber reports on a regular basis, help identify trends and spot opportunities through data analysis & support the team in forecasting and budgeting processes, gaining experience that will enable the candidate to understand the key drivers of subscriber acquisitions.
- Keep the broader Subscriber Acquisition team aware and updated about Acquisition Strategy & Optimization team initiatives by sending newsletters and maintaining internal documents updated.
- Opportunity to learn new analytical skills like PowerBI & SQL to support the team in updating trading slides and monthly campaign performance metrics.
- Build effective communication skills to support in connecting the dots between marketing functions and the growth leads and presenting results & analysis to both teams.
Qualifications & experience
- You must be a recent university graduate, having graduated no earlier than July 2022.
- Proficient in Excel, Google sheets, or similar.
- Analytical thinking.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Critical-thinker and problem-solver.
- Experience with quantitative data.
- Basic SQL skills would be a bonus.
The internship
- Salary: £27,000
- Contract Length: 12 months
- Start Date: Likely to be 9th September 2024
- You will gain hands-on experience working on business-critical projects.

Next steps

- Stage 2: For eligible candidates, you will be invited to complete a written questionnaire in HireVue. The deadline for this is Sunday 24th March.
- Stage 3: Pre-recorded video interviews via HireVue will be sent out, to be completed in April.
- Stage 4: Assessment Centres & Interviews will take place May-June.
