Your new role
The role will be focussed on supporting the evaluation and execution of investment and partnership initiatives across WBD’s international businesses in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC). The team also works on specific projects supporting cross-functional growth initiatives and region or country specific projects supporting the Senior Management of the international business.
Your role accountabilities
- Conducting company and market research to support organic investments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Joint Ventures (JV) and partnerships.
- Creating PowerPoint presentations which provide Senior Management with overviews of investment opportunities and industry/market insights.
- Developing business plans for investment opportunities in Excel, using internal and external financial data, market data, and other quantitative and qualitative information integrated into high-quality analytical outputs for internal and external audiences.
- Creative development of strategic pitches to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Liaise with regional and/or central teams to collate and verify data.
- Due diligence and research on business opportunities, including reviewing large numbers of documents and financial data provided through a secure diligence portal such as a Data Room.
- Support the team on a variety of tasks related to specific Corporate Development projects or team / company initiatives, and often on an ad-hoc, fast turnaround basis.
Qualifications & experience
- You must be a recent university graduate, having graduated no earlier than July 2022.
- Proven capability in sourcing data and conducting research.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong inter-personal skills – must be a team player and confident to liaise with colleagues.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail.
- Passionate about working in the media and digital industries.
- Functional knowledge of Finance, Accounting or Economics is a plus.
The internship
- Salary: £27,000
- Contract Length: 12 months
- Start Date: Likely to be 9th September 2024
- You will gain hands-on experience working on business-critical projects.

Next steps

- Stage 2: For eligible candidates, you will be invited to complete a written questionnaire in HireVue. The deadline for this is Sunday 24th March.
- Stage 3: Pre-recorded video interviews via HireVue will be sent out, to be completed in April.
- Stage 4: Assessment Centres & Interviews will take place May-June.
