    Your new role

    Warner Bros. Discovery produce award winning content which is distributed around the world to millions of fans from different cultures who consume content on a variety of devices.  The role of Media Supply Chain Technologies intern is to gain an understanding of the technology and processes used to modify this content for local markets.

    Have you ever wondered how a television programme, once made, is distributed all over the world in many languages and made suitable to be watched on both a large living room screen and phone at the same time?

    We call this the Global Media Supply Chain and the EMEA & APAC Media Supply Chain – are the technical engineering department, involved in solving complex technical problems to make this possible. We look after a large array of systems involved in the media supply, covering several computer operating systems.

    As an intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about the technical software applications that we use for secure file transfers, editing and file format changes for different devices. You will also learn how we process media files including video, audio & subtitles, how content is found and securely stored and how T&O enable the localisation through dubbing to local languages and adding subtitles and audio description for access services to make our content suitable for all fans across the world.

    Your role accountabilities

    • Gain a high-level understanding of Warner Bros. Discovery Media Supply Chain.
    • Help support the Turner Media Asset Management System (TMC)
    • Support the migration of content to new playout centres.
    • Acting as a hub between other departments, feeding information back where relevant and attending meetings as an WE representative
    • To respond to phone and email enquiries on engineering issues or new requests.
    • Helping to resolve issues with content & workflows for all types of content, problem solving and escalating problems as and when required.
    • Documenting new workflows and project work.
    • Provide support to team on relevant Project work.

    Qualifications & experience

    • You must be a recent university graduate, having graduated no earlier than July 2022.   
    • The role would suit someone who is analytical minded, likes to understand how things work and is happy to question and probe to gain further understanding.
    • An interest to learn about the Media Industry and computing.
    • A problem solver, with an interest in improving workflows.
    • Familiar with Microsoft Excel or has a willingness to use and learn more.
    • Keen to learn about technical software applications that we use.
    • Has an interest in how we process media files, including video, audio, subtitles.
    • Ability to work independently and to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Attention to details and methodical approach.
    • Good communication skills.

    The internship

    • Salary: £27,000
    • Contract Length: 12 months
    • Start Date: Likely to be 9th September 2024
    • You will gain hands-on experience working on business-critical projects. 
    • You will have access to personal and professional development courses, executive speakers’ series, special screenings and more.

    • Stage 2: For eligible candidates, you will be invited to complete a written questionnaire in HireVue. The deadline for this is Sunday 24th March.
    • Stage 3: Pre-recorded video interviews via HireVue will be sent out, to be completed in April. 
    • Stage 4: Assessment Centres & Interviews will take place May-June.
