Your new role
This role will give you a unique opportunity to join the Global Production Management Team which is at the heart of the organisation’s commissioned content, overseeing the lifecycle of some of the content that we commission across our Warner Bros. Discovery networks and platforms.
This role will consist of one year working with WBD's London-based EMEA Production Management Department (PMD) Team and our coordinators who support payments and deliveries of unscripted local productions.
This is a fantastic opportunity to observe a variety of roles as well as gain practical experience in multiple areas including TV commissioning, production, broadcast (publication) and media data analytics.
Your role accountabilities
- Assisting the team in devising and maintaining central systems for tracking and reviewing the status of programmes and providing information to support negotiations with third party producers.
- Supporting the delivery and payment processes – tracking deliverables and releasing payments to third party producers.
- Navigating and inputting data onto internal project management systems such as DEAL - our one stop shop for programming statuses – maintaining global standards in our processes.
- Supporting data analysis, through dashboards and presentations.
- Engage with EMEA PMD Directors and Production Managers, Project Managers, Executive Producers, Contract Assistants, and third-party production company representatives as required.
- Lead or contribute towards Key PMD initiatives or practices rolled out internationally (e.g., aligning processes such as budget template, status tracking, timely deliverables to support global day and date publication of content on Discovery+).
- You will have access to global partners within the Global Production Finance team and Content Supply Chain (Content & Production Operations team in UK, EMEA and US).
Qualifications & experience
- You must be a recent university graduate, having graduated no earlier than July 2022.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
- Interest in project management and/ or business.
- Confident in asking questions – able to tactfully ask for information and remind people of deadlines.
- Intermediate Microsoft, Google or equivalent office package skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Enjoy learning new systems and comfortable with managing data and information.
- Genuine desire to pursue a career in the media, a passion for both programme content as well as the management side of TV Production (the processes and controls required to support).
- Speaking a foreign language may be beneficial, together with interest, knowledge and interest in other international cultures and ways of working.
The internship
- Salary: £27,000
- Contract Length: 12 months
- Start Date: Likely to be 9th September 2024

- Stage 4: Assessment Centres & Interviews will take place May-June.
