There has never been a more exciting time to work in catalogue in the music industry. Thanks to new mobile and digital platforms and renewed interest in physical formats, discovery is unlimited and new generations of fans are listening to the best music ever recorded, regardless of when it was released, on their own terms. Fans listen across genres and decades – a good song is a good song. Digital platforms make the entire history of recorded music available, and our job in catalogue is to ensure that our artists are in the best position to be heard.

We specialise in a select group of priority U.K. signed catalogue artists who may or may not have current careers on other labels. These artists are iconic in nature and foster a creative environment. It is our job to work with the artists or their Estates and nurture their catalogues and legacies to expand engagement on the widest possible range of platforms.

    Your role

The position of Junior Manager, Catalogue Development and Marketing works with a specific U.K. based Global Content Development team and roster of artists and repertoire, to create and release product suites across new and existing formats and environments, physically and digitally.

The role centres around marketing asset creation, strategic development, and performance analysis. With an intimate knowledge of the artist’s career, aesthetic, and repertoire, you will work to increase exposure for artists and drive revenue by identifying opportunities for incremental growth, sharpening, and implementing best practices across our artist roster, and increasing internal awareness of the value of our artists’ catalogues in an “always-on” marketplace. Reporting into the Director, Marketing and Development in London, the position offers the opportunity to set standards and benchmarks that keep Warner Music Group and the artists ahead of the competition. We think and act like entrepreneurs.

    Here you’ll get to

    • Collaborate with the Director, Marketing and Development and Director of A&R to develop and execute global campaigns and strategies for the defined artist roster.
    • Be an expert in the history of each artist on your roster and the landscape of the genre they occupy. This includes their overall brand, past releases, marketing campaigns, social media presence, fanbase consumption habits, chart performance, and more.
    • Attend regular meetings with SVP, Global Catalogue Development and Marketing and Director of A&R to outline scope, timeline, deliverables, and establish relevant KPIs for each campaign or project.
    • Drive catalogue marketing initiatives for the artist roster in-line with anniversaries and associated milestone events through the artist’s career.
    • You will create and deliver regular updates to all interested parties, including but not limited to the artists/artist management highlighting campaign performance and growth opportunities that align with our strategic goals.
    • You will run post-mortem analysis on catalogue marketing initiatives to evaluate successes and failures and continue to develop best practices to apply moving forward.
    • You will develop and create social content and digital marketing tools for use across social networks and streaming platforms on a global basis.
    • You will liaise with Warner Music Entertainment, Business Development, Sync and Brands to enhance the artist’s portfolios and create greater engagement.

    About you

    • You are passionate about our artists, repertoire, and business.
    • You enjoy significant previous experience working with artists and studios.
    • You have an excellent understanding of administrative duties around music releases including production, label copy, scheduling, copy checking and working with meta data.
    • You have an excellent understanding of budgetary requirements and constraints to inform key creative decisions.
    • You will have an awareness and interest in current and future audio and audio-visual technologies.
    • You can work autonomously, with minimal supervision, be pro-active and take initiative.
    • You are highly organised and diligent.
    • You have excellent all round communication skills to all levels of seniority internally and externally.
    • You enjoy good relationships with colleagues (internally and externally) and artists and management as a collaborative, team player.
    • You will be pro-active and forward thinking, with a willingness to experiment and innovate..

Thanks for your interest in working for WMG. We love it here, and think you will, too.
