    The role

    We’d like you to join our growing Environmental Management, H&S, Climate Resilience, Due Diligence and Responsible Investment team in London or Sheffield.

    By joining our dynamic team, you’ll help provide our growing range of clients with new tools, analysis, and strategic advice to enable them to identify, manage and act on the environmental risks relating to their business.

    Play a frontline role in Environmental Management & Compliance on Waterman’s environmental management product - Greenspace. Help clients navigate Environmental legal obligations and targets and be part of our innovation to launch “ClimateSpace”. This will be our client's platform to assess and display their compliance against a growing number of climate and EHS rules and regulations.

    You will also support Waterman’s award-winning and market leading Due Diligence and ESG responsible investment team working across a wide range of sectors, industries and client sizes helping private equity, banks, infrastructure funds, blue-chips, developers, and government agencies.

    You will be a key player in the success of the business unit as well as being able to develop your own expertise further. The role is likely to be based in London, but Sheffield or Manchester will be considered. We offer flexible working arrangements.

    Responsibilities

    Day-to-day activities and your developing role in shaping our future. We will train you to:

    • Research and summarise guidance documents on topics including Climate, ESG and Sustainability to expand the scope of the Greenspace platform.
    • Support our clients ensure compliance with your developing knowledge of UK legalisation.
    • Preparation of Environmental Management Documentation on our Greenspace platform: Legal Registers, Risk Registers, Compliance Audits and Improvement Plans.
    • Prepare photo-illustrated reports, presentations or other outputs as needed for projects and business development.
    • Work with the team to support Environmental Management Systems and Due Diligence projects when required.
    • Support our ‘EnviroWizard’ Environmental Screening Service which identifies key investment risks relating to contaminated land liabilities, flood risk and mining subsidence.

    About you

    Although we’re happy to consider applicants with more or less experience, you’ll ideally have qualifications, experience or skills in the following areas:

    • A University Degree in a relevant discipline – such as environmental science or engineering.
    • Basic working knowledge of Environmental legislation, guidance and standards
    • An interest in ESG, Climate Change and Resilience Planning.
    • Ideally some experience, preferable in a consulting, industrial or commercial sector
