Are you used to participating in and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients and in promoting and maintaining links with other health and social care agencies?
Can you contribute to the teaching and training of young people's professionals and other staff working in the service? Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and maintenance of standards of practice is really important too.

Job Description
You’ll be joining a dedicated, compassionate team of people whose purpose is to provide YP Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions. We work with young people who have a range of complex Anxiety and Depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.
Another important part of the job that we do is the provision of an advisory service on matters related to the practice and delivery of CBT to individuals, groups & committees across the organisation.
You will have autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients in line with the service, formulating, implementing and evaluating therapy programmes for clients sharing outcomes where appropriate.
The job role also involves carrying out clinical audits of service performance, including service user surveys and evaluations helping to collate and disseminate the results for feedback.
Required Skills
To successfully carry out this role you will need:
- to be a CYP IAPT graduate or have a recorded/registered doctorate level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology or in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy
- to have further postgraduate qualification training in CYP CBT accredited core profession
- cccreditation with BABCP (or working towards BABCP accreditation within approx. 6 months)
- evidence of continuous professional development
- demonstrable experience of work with CYP, working in mental health and young persons’ services, routine outcome monitoring, carrying out risk assessments within scope of practice
- knowledge/understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
- knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health / benefits & employment systems
- knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems and understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies
- knowledge of child protection issues and other relevant legislation and of anti-discriminatory practice
- high level of enthusiasm and motivation with advanced communication skills
- able to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
- able to work under pressure and within a team with regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality
- ability and skills to act as an advocate for a new service
- able to meet We Are With You’s safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced DBS/PVG certificate
- ability to work flexible and unsocial hours as required
Desirable Skills
Whilst these are not essential candidates who have some or all of the following in addition to essential skills will be at an advantage:
- accreditation for other NICE compliant psychological therapies such as family therapy
- experience of working in Primary Care Services treating anxiety and depression
- experience of working with children and young people
- worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
- completed clinical audits within a service
- experience of teaching
- experience of working with and within diverse communities and of liaising with other professional groups
- car driver and/or ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation
- fluent in community languages other than English
