    What’s happening?

    Weber Shandwick is looking for applicants for our 2024 Junior Associate Programme in Glasgow, Scotland. Our Junior Associate role (Junior Account Executive equivalent) is an opportunity for structured on-the-job training that will see you work with talented colleagues and clients around the world while being part of a high-performing, close-knit community.

    The role is a superb opportunity to start a career in communications, where you’ll gain experience partnering with well-known global brands as well as some here in Scotland too. You’ll have the chance to work on integrated campaigns involving earned media, strategy, creative, analytics and digital specialists, and will be instrumental in supporting account teams managing the day-to-day running of accounts, pitching to the media and securing coverage, research, and reporting on campaigns.

    What will you be doing?

    • Help teams to develop media materials (press releases, pitch emails, reporter backgrounders, social media posts)
    • Stay on top of news, trends, and influencers in specific industries
    • Use tools to analyse online conversations and trends
    • Media and influencer research, developing targeted lists and pitching contacts
    • Conduct research and develop media audits
    • Deliver accurate and timely media and digital monitoring and campaign results reports
    • Maintain and update status reports, including materials trackers, media trackers, conference/event trackers
    • Attend and participate in client meetings and/or teleconferences, and accurately capture meeting notes/actions
    • Supplier liaison (e.g. production companies)

    Who are you?

    • Keen to learn about agency life and the full flow of work we do
    • A strong communicator with a keen interest in communications and news cycles
    • Confident taking a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for the client, practice and team
    • Be an excellent communicator and possess exceptional writing skills – particularly the ability to digest complex information and turn it into compelling, understandable written copy
    • Capable of getting to grips with complex industries
    • Able to manage your time and consistently meet deadlines
    • Attentive to detail and quality
    • Fluent in Microsoft programs and digital/social media platforms, tools, and solutions
