    About this role

    Wells Fargo is seeking talent to join the EMEA Operational Risk Internship Program.

    Wells Fargo’s Summer Internship Experience is designed to help you learn more about what we do and the banking sector by getting involved in real life value adding projects. This is a 10 week experience, and you will be paid for your participation.

    We will provide you with various learning opportunities and support throughout your time with us.  On joining, a buddy – previous intern or a current graduate – will help guide you through the transition from classroom to a professional workplace. Learning is on the job from experts in your team, as well as specifically designed courses providing the technical and general business skills needed to be successful.  And you have the opportunity to meet senior leaders and other experts across the company to start building your professional network.

    Operational Risk is the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, and systems, or from external events. During the 10 weeks, you will have the opportunity to contribute and gain practical experience within operational risk activities.

    In this role, you will

    • Learn about the EMEA business lines, support functions and legal entities and their operational risk routines including – plan, identify and assess, control and mitigate, test and validate, monitor and report.
    • Attend meetings with the Control Executive teams, Business Management and Corporate Risk teams to promote a strong operational risk culture.
    • Acquire experience on risk governance routines inclusive of strategic planning sessions, governance committees and business reviews.
    • Join risk management meetings, attended with the front line to discuss the business needs for strategic objectives, while meeting operational risk program expectations.
    • Provide support on monitoring routine activities, projects and ad-hoc tasks within the team.
    • You will be directly supervised and mentored by an experienced member of the team.

    Required qualifications, international

    • Work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

    Desired qualifications

    • Have the relevant rights to work in the country where the internship experience is based
    • Be available to work full time throughout Mon 20th June 2022 – Fri 26th Aug 2022
    • In full time education at secondary school, college or university in the country where the internship experience is based
    • A good listener and feel comfortable to speak to individuals or groups from a wide variety of backgrounds
    • Want to achieve high quality results consistently with a strong attention to detail
    • Able to work productively and with good judgement especially when without direct supervision
