Energy - Major Projects
WSP has a rich knowledge of industrial and energy processes, a unique combination of specialist skills and multidisciplinary expertise required to plan, design, build and operate a new plant, or to automate equipment in an existing industrial facility. Your new role what's involved
Major Projects Programmes
Our Major Projects team deliver projects for Public Sector buildings including Education buildings, Defence infrastructure, Industrial, Water and Waste management facilities.
The team support clients delivering projects from feasibility through design into construction. Our multi-disciplinary team brings expertise to deliver large / complex projects or programmes to plan, engineer and control the delivery of projects to achieve client's investment objectives. We work collaboratively with colleagues from technical specialists across the wider WSP to provide our clients with the best expertise to deliver a wide range of projects. Our core focus is the delivery of large and complex Buildings and Infrastructure particularly with the Energy, Waste, Water and Environment, and Education sectors.
The roles we are recruiting for are ideal if you are wishing to start your career as a Civil or Building Services Engineer or Construction/Project Management Graduate.
Within this area we look to hire graduates with a degree in:
- Civil Engineering (London)
- Building Services (London)
- Construction or Project Management - (London or Manchester)

What you’ll need
- You’ll be graduating in 2023 or you may have recently graduated with at least a 2:2 in a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (listed in the above roles)
- You'll be looking to start work in September 2023
- You’ll ideally have less than 1.5 years relevant experience
- You’ll be passionate with the curiosity and creativity to solve problems
- You’ll want to stretch and inspire us, speaking up about any new ideas you have
- You’ll want to throw yourself in from day one and put your studies into practice
- You’ll have excellent communication skills
- You’ll enjoy working in a team environment, sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues
- You’ll have confidence to work under pressure with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively
Please note behavioural assessment results at WSP are valid for a period of 12 months, if you have completed an assessment within this timeframe and been unsuccessful we will not be able to consider your application.

How long does the process take?
You'll receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application within 48 hours of submission. We work hard to match you to the most suitable roles in our business based on your preferences. The recruitment process can vary depending on the role and team you are matched to. Most applications complete initial behavioural screening assessments and are progressed to an interview or Assessment Centre if we have a role and location match within 2 months but it’s good to know that the whole process can last up to 3 months in total if you're an early applicant.
