You’ll be part of a dynamic and growing team that

  • Delivers sustainability strategies, corporate EHS and CR programmes, disclosures and annual reporting, diving deep into ESG issues
  • Organises data, quantifies and manages GHG emissions, as a platform to prepare carbon reduction programmes
  • Supports corporate and international development project ESG.
  • Manages climate risks, adaptation, resilience and reporting (e.g. TCFD).

Some recent sustainability project commissions include

  • Carbon footprinting for a portfolio of companies in the ownership of a private equity group
  • Full life-cycle planning and masterminding of an evidence base, workshops, and strategy (with target-setting and identification of relvant KPIs) for Highways England
  • Calculating Scope 3 emissions from a law firm to inform a major carbon reduction strategy, including alignment with the Science-based Targets initiatives (SBTi) approach and methodology
  • Initiating and preparing a comprehensive programme of ESG initiatives for a large owner of built environment assets
  • Preparing world-class sustainability strategies for renowned companies in the FMCG, telecommunications, construction and transportation sectors, including airports and ports
  • Developing a Circular Economy strategy for a major nationwide construction products and services firm
  • Conducting ‘cradle to grave’ Life Cycle Assessments for products, developed Environmental Product Declarations and verified those produced by others
  • Conducting gap analyses for clients’ alignment to TCFD recommendations, developing actions plans and helping to implement (including for financial services and asset managers/owners).

A typical week would include

You’ll be a key part of our dynamic teams, delivering project work and contributing towards our thought-leadership initiatives. You will enjoy dealing with data, people and be solutions-oriented with some applied experience in the carbon, climate, sustainability, environmental, social and/or HSE realms. You’ll be familiar with the challenge companies, projects and programmes are facing and be enthusiastic to learn and contribute directly towards enhancing them and striving for the transition to safer, greener, cleaner and net zero emissions future.

Tasks would include

  • Collating, handling and organising data in order to calculate carbon baselines and footprints for development projects, companies and strategic plans
  • Contributing to net zero emissions strategies for public and private sector organisations by taking part in stakeholder engagement events, data analysis and reporting
  • Helping to research and/or author a specialist chapter as part of an EIA (UK) or Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (international) on topics such as carbon, climate, resources/wastes, Major Accident Hazards, etc.
  • Analysing and researching clients’ sustainability challenges and using quantified information to provide robust evidence bases for packages of solutions and making recommendations.

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • A relevant qualification and some experiences in environmental science, E&S studies, sustainability, carbon, climate and HSE
  • Have a positive can-do and inquisitive attitude to seeking solutions for society’s complex challenges
  • Competent skills in data management, software packages and numerical analyses (from MS Excel to LCA tools).
